Research
Broadly...Experimental High Energy Particle and Nuclear Physics
My research focus is on building detectors that produce electrical signals when irradiated with high energy charged particles. These detectors are used to measure a wide variety particles produced in the collisions of fundamental particles at high energies, for example at the Large Hadron Collider. In particular, I have a lot of experience with detectors made of semiconducting materials. In the lab, we work on maximizing the detector signal-to-noise ratio and their ability to withstand high dosages of radiation.
