XXIII SERC MAIN SCHOOL IN THEORETICAL HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS IIT Bombay, February 6-26, 2008.
Applications are invited from graduate students working for their Ph.D degree in Theoretical High Energy Physics. This year, we have 3 long courses of 9 lectures and 9 tutorial sessions and two short courses on various topics of relevance today. The lectures will be pedagogical in nature while the tutorials will be reserved for discussions and problem solving. Preference will be given to Ph.D. students in Theoretical High Energy Physics and to those who have already attended a SERC Preliminary School.
Please check the program for courses, schedule, lecturers, guest faculty and prerequisites/course content.
The philosophy underlying the SERC schools in Theoretical High Energy Physics is that the topics discussed in them should be part of the training of all high energy physics students, irrespective of their particular area of research. So students are expected to participate fully in all the five courses being taught, and not just in the courses in which there is some overlap with their research.
Please register for applying.
Last date for receiving the application: October 31, 2007. All applicants will receive an e-mail by November 6th regarding the status of their application. If you do not receive it, please send an e-mail to sercmain08@phy.iitb.ac.in.
