Title: Confronting the Dark and Unnatural Universe

Speaker: Prof. Sridhara Rao Dasu, Department of Physics, University of Wisconsin, Madison

Abstract: The status of Higgs boson related findings at the LHC in the recent years will be described. Naturalness arguments require new physics at TeV scale. Models with a weakly interacting massive particle abound. These WIMPs are ideal dark matter candidates. Searches for production of dark matter WIMPs at the LHC, and direct interactions of galactic matter with sensitive underground detectors will also be described.
