Title: Scattering Amplitudes from Geometry of Polytopes
Speaker: Alok Laddha, CMI
Abstract: Studies of Scattering Amplitudes in Gauge theories and Gravity has witnessed striking new developments in recent years. Among them, two of the advances, the so-called CHY formalism and relating scattering amplitudes to geometry of polytopes (known as Amplituhedron) shed new light on structural aspects of S-matrix theory. In this talk, we review some of these developments and show how tree-level amplitudes involving quartic interactions are intimately tied to some newly discovered polytopes in mathematics called Stokes complexes.
