Title: Searches for physics beyond the standard model in semi-leptonic baryonic decays
Speaker: Dr. Diganta Das, University of Delhi
Abstract: Our present knowledge about the fundamental building blocks of matter and the interactions between them is described by a mathematical framework called the Standard Model of particles physics. So far, the theoretical predictions of the Standard Model has been confirmed by experiments with high accuracy. However, there are few observed phenomenon that can not be explained by the Standard model. Moreover, several experimental results in the decays of composite particles, called mesons, have recently been found to contradict with the Standard Model predictions. These anomalies may be hints for physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM), often known as new physics (NP). In this talk I will describe the potential of Λb→ Λ( →pπ ) `+`− decay to search for BSM/NP.
