Title: Mesoscopic Quantum Optics: Fundamental Aspects and Device Applications
Speaker: Dr. Manas Kulkarni, ICTS Bangalore
Abstract: I will discuss our recent findings in a class of Quantum Dot circuit-QED systems both from a fundamental perspective and from the point of view of device applications. In such setups, quantum dots placed out of equilibrium (via finite voltage bias) are integrated with a superconducting transmission line resonator, to form highly tunable, versatile and scalable hybrid quantum systems. These systems form an excellent test bed to understand fundamental aspects of open quantum systems (such as transport, correlations, entanglement, statistics) and also serve as potential quantum devices (such as amplifiers, masers, rectifiers and transistors).
