Title: Efficient measurement of high-dimensional quantum states
Speaker: Prof. Anand Kumar Jha, Department of Physics, IIT Kanpur
Abstract: The fact that a photon in a light beam can carry orbital angular momentum (OAM) in the integer multiples of â„ has made OAM a very important degree of freedom for quantum information protocols. However, one of the major challenges faced in the implementation of OAM-based high-dimensional protocols is the efficient detection of quantum states in the OAM basis. In this talk, we will describe the existing techniques for measuring quantum states in the OAM basis and also discuss their limitations. We will then present a new experimental technique that we have developed in order to efficiently measure high-dimensional quantum states through just two intensity measurements.
