Title: Form factors for neutrino scattering from lattice QCD
Speaker: Prof. Gunnar Bali, University of Regensburg, Germany
Abstract: A precise knowledge of nucleon axial form factors is needed for the new generation of terrestrial neutrino experiments. Lattice QCD determinations of these form factors are particularly challenging due to contamination from excitations, in particular from scattering states. Transitions mediated by an axial current, are also interesting themselves, as these can be related to neutrino induced pion production, a process that is prominent in neutrino detectors. I will comment on the state of the art, discuss recent results and give an outlook regarding future prospects.
